Homeless Memorial Planning Group

It is time for us to begin planning for Homeless Memorial Day 2019.  We are inviting you to be part of the planning group and help organize this year's gathering. Please join us!

As most of you know, this is an annual gathering during which we honor those persons who were homeless or formerly homeless and passed away this year, and we recommit ourselves to ending homelessness in our city. Homeless Persons Memorial Day is a national event that takes place on or around December 21, the first day of winter and the longest night of the year. Since the early 1990s, a coalition of Philadelphia advocates, providers, and homeless/formerly homeless persons have commemorated the event locally with a special gathering to remember our homeless sisters and brothers who have died and to recommit ourselves to working to end homelessness in our city.

As always, we need a solid core of organizers, volunteers, and committee members to make this significant event possible.
